Re: Query limitiation in operation mode?
i'm not sure I would have written it that way outside of Aware, so try DUE = CURRENT_DATE+1 this certainly varies by interpreters in each language, but in some, the CURRENT_DATE-1 might be calculated ONCE, and then treated as a constant, and then compared to the database field, whereas in your way i...

Re: Moving AWS EC2 to a new Region
Mark I just did this... having NOT read your post on the topic. Searching and figuring it out for myself... with similar exp. in some areas as you. After copying my first AMI to new region, when I started it up I could not connect. From the EC2 dashboard, when I asked for the password, it said "Wait...

Re: Delete Rule Keeps Retriggering
2. Approach : Never use IN BATCHES OF 1. IN BATCHES OF should not be used for processing individual records . It is server intensive and thus, slow. Only use IN BATCHES OF if the ResultSet is going to be so large that...<snip>. Nice tips in this thread. I appreciate it. But I'm confused about somet...

Dang!
Now the new version will be 2 weeks later.
Maybe you could still put in a little time each day instead of the normal hours.... like only 10hrs / day thru the break.

Flattening Data
I def. think I'd like to do this, but it depends. 1) If I keep the data in btrieve and access via PSQL, then I'm not going to be able to change the source data. What I mean is that if I use the btr fields as they are, without writing routines to massage the data, then everything stays as it was in t...

Observation on dealing with 300 fields from outside data sou
PS _ Observation on dealing with 300 fields from outside data source 1) AIM doesn't give me the ability to rename data fields. So you're at the mercy of what programmer originally named fields, or at least whats in the DDFs. 2) AIM lets me delete fields from the BO, so I didn't need a bunch and I go...

Re: Would AwareIM work as a front end to a data warehouse?
Results of my 1st test. ALSO Big concerns BELOW I decided to try accessing the btrieve data via AWARE, using PSQL 12 server and JDBC drivers. This provides a chance to do a proof of concept to the powers that be without investment all the way into MSSQL, etc. The builtin filtering/searching seems to...

Re: Custom Query Examples
I looked at bootstrap builder (BB) and it didn't make much sense how it applied, until Mark showed me exactly how he was using it. instead of writing <table> <tr> <td>{field1}</td> <td>{field2}</td> </tr> </table> in BB, you wysiwyg your output, copy & paste what it generated into the CUSTOM QUERY b...

Re: Would AwareIM work as a front end to a data warehouse?
This isn't AwareIM's sweet spot. Have you looked at Power BI? https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/ John We have PowerBI and are using that for other things... this app is to provide web lookup of historical data. For this I don't need the analysis, interactive reports, etc. From what I've seen, Pow...

After you have a map with pins on it, what can you do next?
Is there a link or anyway to drill down to an Aware form when you click?

Re: Would AwareIM work as a front end to a data warehouse?
If you are talking denormalising, or re normalising the data, is a conversion to sql off the table? Also, a normalized data structure is preferred for insert/update transactional systems. This is an offline historical database to be queried for previous order research/warranty info/etc. It can full...

Re: Would AwareIM work as a front end to a data warehouse?
If you are talking denormalising, or re normalising the data, is a conversion to sql off the table? no, i'm definitely going to be using a large SQL backend db to store 25 million rows of data. my larger issue is whether AwareIM can handle it. not the data size, but the UI. Can it work nicely as a ...
