Checkboxs in Yes/No fields on Related records

I am sure my tired brain is missing something, but I can't get a check box (I only see yes/no) when I have a form, with a related bo displayed in a table. What is the trick to have check boxes instead of the words?

Are you referring to a Yes/No attribute being displayed as a drop/down in a grid/table column rather than a checkbox?

That what I see as well. I only see checkboxes for yes/no attributes on forms.

I have a BO with a related BO. The related BO has a bunch of Yes/No Fields. In the form for the original BO, am showing the related records in a table. Instead of seeing Yes/No in the colunm, I would really really like the user to see either a checkbox (for no) or a filled in checkbox (for yes).

Can I do that???

I don't believe it matters whether is the parent BO or a referenced BO. I always get a yes/no drop down in a grid. That appears to be the OOTB design.

I'm sure a checkbox can be used by customizing either the Kendo Grid rowTemplate or columnTemplate.

I see if I set an ICON rule for the attribute, then I can do that. It just seems kludgy that its not built in. Oh well. As long as I can accomplish what the user requires, then all is good (for now!)
