Re: Complex Query Conundrum

I tend to avoid IN and do the reverse relationship but it's not clear what the Agency.p_Store relationship. If it's a ps then I would do FIND Store WHERE COUNT Agency WHERE ( Agency.psCustomer = Customer AND Agency.psStore = Store)>0 If they are many to many then I avoid using these in AIM and inste...

FR - Control Over Tabs

Tabs at the moment can be used as an output from an operation, ie you create a process then add that process to a panel operation or an operation with records. After that beyond closing the tab your control of the tab is limited. (Unless there are undocumented features to tabs, in which case please ...

FR WEEK_ADD YEAR_ADD

While there are: DATE_ADD - which adds days to a date (though seems like it should be called DAY_ADD, and MONTH_ADD - which adds months to a date There is no WEEK_ADD or YEAR_ADD Both can be done with multiples of DATE_ADD * 7 or MONTH_ADD * 12 but this leads to code that is not particularly clear t...

Re: Macintosh Client Issues (8.6 in 2021)

Came across this while looking for something else and a lot of these issues persist or have gotten worse. The right most panels are frequently out of sync with the middle panel in focus. For example this image shows both Form properties and Query properties being in context at the same time. Clearly...

Session Variables Object and NULL

If you are using the Session Variables non persisted object to hold the IDs of BOs (instead of placing the BO itself into the SV object) you must set the initial value of these IDs if you rely on auto refresh based on these IDs being set. For example: List of Contacts. Default operation with Records...

Re: Worked Example of Stored Proc

If I read your posts correctly, you are not storing the output of the SP into a persisted object in the database, but rather returning the output directly to the call from the query in AIM? That is correct In your earlier post, you wrote that you called the SP by: EXEC_SP 'CB_GetTxnBalByMth' WITH '...

FR - Categorise BO Rules

In the same way that the BSV Object list is more manageable by having categories ... Business Object Rules could be more readable/manageable if you could categorise these. For Example: Contact BO has name fields and Date fields I have rules to check that: SortName becomes FamilyName+', '+GivenName F...

Re: Worked Example of Stored Proc

Thanks for this , its exactly what I need for a pending deep dive into running queries using stored procedures (not to mention all the other inputs links) I have numerous queries providing real time transaction data at a customer account level, running them inside AIM was the first step , now i nee...

Fixing Deprecated mySQL 8 features.

So, when you do something then realise your logic was a little bit off and mySQL 8 has deprecated the use of variables and introduced windows. This has made everything a lot simpler I made adjustments to my data model Screen Shot 2021-09-28 at 12.19.07.png And have renamed the receiving BO to make e...

Re: SessionVars not working as should

Bruce,

Did this ever get fixed? I am having the same problem.

I am assuming it is a typo your example code seems to have an error

Code: Select all

FIND Child where Child.ob_parent = SessionVars.parentID.
It seems that an object is being matched with an ID
