Re: Aware and SQL Webinar - Tuesday

Highly recommend anyone wanting to build AwareIM Apps (better) to join in Bruce’s webinar tomorrow. Even if you are an SQL guru. Big thanks to Bruce for doing this (again).

Re: Aware and SQL Webinar - Tuesday

Hi Bruce,

Bruces webinar at the conference was fantastic and I would like to attend the repeat. Any chance you could run it late afternoon? 8AM EST is 10PM Brisbane :-) . I'm much better at my 6AM.

Re: LoggedInRegularUser in SQL

No problem ACDC. I’m still not satisfied with my method of identifying the “LIRU”. The way I’m doing it could grab the wrong user. Perhaps you can get a better solution to that challenge :-)

Re: LoggedInRegularUser in SQL

We are using SQL Triggers to record a history of attribute changes in business objects. It's working very well and quickly I have been wanting to insert an audit trail object into all my objects, but have stayed away from doing it because of the perceived overhead. Your solution sounds like an exce...

Re: LoggedInRegularUser in SQL

Dave, There's also the GETCHANGES function if im not mistaken.. similar. Thanks Peter. Our problem with the GET_CHANGES function was it returns all the changes for an object wrapped in HTML. My client wants to view history as data with changes to individual attributes shown separately. So for examp...

LoggedInRegularUser in SQL

We are using SQL Triggers to record a history of attribute changes in business objects. Its working very well and quickly. The Triggers are INSERTing rows into an SQL Table recording OLD,NEW,TIMESTAMP values for each change. For example when a Person has their Street Address changed we record Old St...

Re: Command line deployment

You could use the AUTO_DEPLOYMENT feature. 1. Create a folder under C:\AwareIM called AUTO_DEPLOYMENT and put your BSV there 2. Start AwareIM 3. If deployment is successful the BSV is automatically moved to. DEPLOYED folder 4. If there is a deployment problem BSV is automatically moved to a FAILED_D...

Re: Utilizing dual monitors

Ok, you have caught me out. I do develop on a Mac computer. But my client uses windows and I have observed them stretching a single browser window (ie IE or Chrome) over dual monitors. You are still restricted to the underlying browser window when you drag your modeless windows, but when that browse...

Re: Utilizing dual monitors

If your environment allows you to stretch the underlying browser window across 2 monitors you can move the modal less windows between the monitors. I’ve observed this working on both Windows and Mac based browsers. You may need to change some settings in your OS to allow this. For example in MAC OS ...

Show Folder Categories when selecting Processes or Queries

It’s great to organise elements in the Elements Tree using Categories that render as folders. But when you select a Process or Query in a properties box they are shown as combo lists in alpha order. Might be good if these were also shown in the same folders that display in the Elements Tree?

Re: the Official v8.1 REST thread - examples, services, etc.

Sean, page 167 of 8.1 User Guide says AwareIM will parse the reply. For JSON and XML replies you can get Aware IM to automatically parse the contents of the reply into attributes of some object. Aware IM will create a new instance of such object and populate its attributes from the values of the cor...

Re: Export data to XML - generate xml files?

I’ve had success using Python scripts to manipulate data files. What you would do is : 1. Create an initial template script in Python that converts a data file exported from AwareIM into the format of XML you require (use hard coded references for the input and output files in this initial script) 2...

Re: Google Cloud Compute Setup (my Notes)

Hi Pointswell,

We’re just reviewing our AWS hosting which is starting to cost a lot. Just wondering how you,ve found Google Cloud’s peformance and durability after 6 months of use.

Thanks

Re: Are there different SETUPVARs?

Only negative for us with upCloud is it does not have data centres in Australia which is important to my clients. AWS have always been rock solid but they are costing us a lot. Has anyone been using Google Cloud? https://kinsta.com/blog/google-cloud-hosting/ claims they are half the price of AWS.
