While on the topic:

I like the Save & Close feature BUT you now have to choose between offering a 'Save' OR a 'Save & Close' button.

I was hoping we would get the option of a dedicated 'Save & Close' button, so we could offer:

'Save' | 'Save & Close' | 'Close' | 'Cancel' buttons on forms
Would these be available in 5.7?

'Save Changes' | 'Save & Close' | 'Close' (show confirmation dialog) | 'Cancel' (no confirmation dialog)

With ability to rename them.

Support, any comment on this?

This seems like a legitimate request & a basic need for any form.

Under the form 'Buttons' settings, can't you just duplicate the Save & Close section to give u 2 instances of this setting instead of 1 + ability to add a Cancel button.

Cheers

Just to add that I have more and more customers asking for a SAVE and a SAVE and CLOSE option. At the moment we have to choose between the two.

can't that be done now? I use the following on all my forms.

Save - saves but leaves form open.
Close - saves data and closes form
Cancel - abandons changes and closes form

So how do you show three buttons?

Set 'Save on close' = True. That will enable the undo/cancel option.

Are you talking about placing your own buttons on forms? If so yes it can then be done but I'm talking about using standard button functionality.

No, just standard buttons.

Oh yes but I want to retain the Close button standard functionality which prompts a user to SAVE if changes have been made, rather than use the Cancel button to close where they would loose changes made.

There has been some great new advanced features released recently and new ones for 5.8, yet improving some of the standard features like the form buttons does not seem to be a priority.

+1

As nice as new features are, I too would like to see fewer net new features and more focus on polish and elegance of the existing feature set.
