Aware IM Server Not Starting

First let me say that I want to update to version 7, I haven't done that yet so this has no correlation to version 7.

We have had this issue in the past and were able to correct it. In the past we changed the port to 8000 for the Aware IM server and tried to start the control panel which would generally time out, however when you went back to port 9000 it would generally start. This time is different and it is not starting at all.

We changed Aware IM memory to 2048 in case memory had been exceeded. We then got the Virtual Server problem so we updated JDK and included the tools.jar in the Tomcat Lib file. Now we don't get the error for the Virtual Server.
We do still have the issue of the AwareIM server starting

We had the hosting company do that yesterday. They completely shut down and restarted the server.

We are going on four days of not being able to get the Aware Im server to start. Has anyone ever dealt with this? We could use some assistance. We have gone back to the old jdk file and tools.jar in tomcat but it still isn't working. We did a hard restart of the server. Meaning they literally shutdown the server and restarted at the hosting company. I am open to any suggestion as what has worked in the past seems not to be working now. :cry:

It might be stating the obvious but couple of gotchas that got me in the past....

Anti virus software
Run out of Disk space

I see some System Settings complaints in the log...
Can you access System Settings and indeed EVERY other table directly in the DB?
Might have one corrupted?

My 0.02 cents worth (but remember, I am a noob...)

1st, re-install Aware to a NEW folder on the server and use the built in Derby DB, that way, you will be running in demo mode, BUT you won't have any bad data. See if that works. if not, you have a server issue and not an aware Issue

2nd, If that works, Re-install it back to the original folder (assume you have some custom stuff in that folder, so make sure its backed up 1st, so after you are done with this step, you can copy the custom stuff (like CSS or .props files) back to where they belong. Now, change the aware DB and see if it works now. If not, then you have some corrupted file, setting in that folder.

3rd, if that worked, then change the DB back to whatever you were using, if it does not start now, I would assume that your Aware DB got corrupted, and of course, you Do have a good backup of that.
