Re Manage Styles - Forms

For some reason, a single reference defaults to a Grid widget. I almost always have to change the widget to a Combo Box drop-down. Not sure if others have the same experience, should it not default to a Combo Box ?

Alternatively managing the style seems to be the answer, but the setup of Single References is very limited compared to the setup of multiple references. Please can we get similar configuration options on single references, with particular reference to :
1. Widget Type
2. Operations
3. Operations Output (window type)

I agree, makes no sense to default to grid for one record.
