I think you will find it was Kendo UI v2017.3.913 in 8.5 and now Kendo UI v2020.3.1021 in 8.6

Ahh, my bad. I guess I was expecting some mind blowing changes in forms.
I know we got a Timeline control, but nothing new on new controls and params to alter Kendo look & feel.

On the new grid grouping feature, implementing custom group Headers and Footers is as a result of the new Kendo version. I am hoping this can lead to a more dynamic grouping layout where meaningful labels and data group sums or counts can be positioned to serve as drill-down reporting/presentation alternative.

The next trick is how to leverage this feature into something like this
